Columbus is the state capital of Ohio, the seat of Franklin County, and third largest city in the state. It is located along the banks of the Scioto River, established in 1812 and named after explorer Christopher Columbus. It was the first city in the U.S. to have been planned and built from day one as a state capital. Today its population is estimated to be 760,000 people making it the 16th most populous city in the U.S. In its early days Columbus employment was geared towards service occupations, such as education, finance, government, and insurance. It was also a major transit hub during the stagecoach era and during World War II became an aircraft manufacturing center.

Because Columbus is a state capital it is the location of many government agencies that provides the majority source of jobs in Columbus. Other sources of employment are schools, hospitals and other public utilities. Large private companies that are based in Columbus include the OCLC, a nonprofit computer service and research company; Chemical Abstracts, the world’s leading source of information about chemicals; Wendy’s and Limited Brand’s, both retail clothing companies.

• Sales Associates (Hourly rate: $10.00 to 12.00) - Duties include assisting customers in completing loan application and approvals; collection, marketing, bank deposits and maintain store cleanliness. At least High School graduate, valid Driver’s License and Proof of Liability Insurance; must pass background, credit and MVR check; must have excellent customer service skills and attitude.
• SAP Business Objects Developer ($88,000.00 to 105,000.00 a year) - extensive knowledge and experience in working with Business Objects.
